Orestes Macchione is the head of sales for HVDC and grid access solutions at Siemens Energy USA, a role he has held for over 10 years. He previously led similar efforts in the United Kingdom and has supported HVDC and FACTS projects across Europe, Asia, and South America.

Orestes is an IEEE senior member and former chair of the group focused on HVDC and FACTS installations and techno-economic choices. He is a regular presenter at power transmission conferences and utility forums, sharing insights from global grid infrastructure projects.
